Job Summary: This position involves daily travel to locations in and around Indianapolis. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, servicing, installing, and repairing Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and Cargo Inspection equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots, services, installs, and repairs equipment at customer sites.
- Maintains field service logs and files.
- Demonstrates initiative and dedication, exceeding customer and company requirements.
- Conducts follow-up calls to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Meets daily service repair needs and drives customer satisfaction.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment; provides customer training.
- Responds to emergency and non-scheduled calls within response time goals.
- Completes scheduled maintenance within deadlines.
- Documents inspections, maintenance, and repairs; submits paperwork timely.
- Orders, installs, and returns parts; manages repair parts cycle time.
- Maintains accurate inventory of parts and tools.
- Maintains technical certifications.
- Reviews logs for open issues and prepares reports.
- Participates in service sales and revenue programs.
- Seeks knowledge from senior technicians.
- Ensures tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Assesses equipment performance and recommends modifications.
- Provides technical support to customers and other professionals.
- May participate in site surveys, pilot programs, meetings, projects, and reports.
- Maintains technical knowledge of company technologies.
- Maintains clear and concise business communication.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with senior technicians and product managers.
- Controls costs and maximizes revenue.
- Submits expenses, time cards, and other administrative tasks on time.
- Complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Complies with export control and security regulations.
- Other duties as required.
Education/Training: Associate's Degree/Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical)/Military Training. 1-3 years of experience in a related field service role is acceptable.
Experience: Minimum 3 years experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems.
Knowledge/Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong customer focus, teamwork orientation, responsiveness to customer issues, ability to travel at short notice, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, excellent customer service skills, self-motivated, reliable, accountable, excellent telephone skills, ability to lift/carry 80 lbs, confidence operating carts, hoists, etc., ability to work safely in varied environments.
Work Environment: Airports, correctional facilities, courthouses, cruise ships, and other locations.
Hiring Salary Range: $67,600 - $91,400 per year.
