Field Service Technician II - RDU
This position requires daily travel to locations in and around the Raleigh Durham Metro area, including the airport.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots, services, installs (deploys), and repairs Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites.
- Maintains field service log and filing system.
- Demonstrates initiative, dedication, and consistently exceeds customer and company requirements.
- Conducts follow-up calls with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Meets daily service repair needs and drives customer satisfaction.
- Fosters positive customer relations.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains equipment in the field; provides customer training.
- Responds to emergency and non-scheduled calls for service.
- Completes scheduled maintenance within deadlines.
- Documents all inspections, maintenance, and repair work.
- Orders, installs, and returns parts; manages repair part cycle time.
- Maintains accurate inventory of parts and tools.
- Maintains technical certifications.
- Reviews logs for open issues and prepares formal reports.
- Participates in service sales opportunities.
- Seeks knowledge and support from senior level technicians.
- Ensures tools and test equipment are maintained and calibrated.
- Assesses product/equipment performance and recommends modifications.
- Provides technical support.
- May participate in site surveys, pilot program activities, meetings, and special projects.
- Possesses technical knowledge on Trace and X-Ray technologies.
- Maintains clear and concise business communication.
- Establishes and maintains close relationships with senior technicians.
- Controls and minimizes costs while maximizing revenue.
- Submits expenses, time cards, and other administrative tasks on time.
- Travel, overtime, and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required.
- Complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Complies with export control and security regulations.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Training:
- Associate’s Degree/Related Trade Certification (electrical, electronic, mechanical)
- Military Training (electrical, mechanical, electronics)
- (Equivalence through experience is acceptable).
- Computer literacy; competency in MS Office Suite
- Aptitude for learning specialized software
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience in troubleshooting and field repair of electrical and electronic systems/equipment.
Knowledge/Skills:

Background:
- Requires Sensitive Security Information (SSI) access and vetting.
- Successful federal background investigation.
