Full-Time Freelance Desk Editor-NBC Sports

Note: This is a project/limited-term position, estimated duration up to 12 months, unless amended/terminated earlier.

As a Desk Editor for NBC Sports, you'll play a key role in NBC Sports' digital operation, covering high-profile sports like NFL, Olympics, Premier League, NBA/WNBA, Motorsports, Golf, College Sports, and Fantasy sports.

Responsibilities include:

1. Managing video publishing and live stream distribution across multiple platforms.
2. Ensuring content accuracy.
3. Managing the daily content of the NBC Sports digital homepage, sport-specific pages, and Sports app.
4. Supporting video publishing on partner platforms like YouTube and Yahoo.
5. Coordinating with various stakeholders for accurate representation of video and written content.
6. Packaging content to maximize reach while prioritizing editorial accuracy.
7. Planning coverage strategies for key events, coordinating between linear and digital teams.
8. Supporting relationships with partner platforms.
9. Occasional article editing and writing.

Requirements:

• Strong editorial judgment and engagement with multiple sports.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Keen attention to detail and prioritization skills.
• Familiarity with digital ecosystems and technical platforms.
• Strong writing skills (long-form and daily content).
• Submission of writing samples required.
• Unrestricted work authorization in the US.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Salary: $175-$200/day
