This position is responsible for the design, development, timing, and production release of a system/component within Fuels Systems: Filler pipes, Fuel lines, Tanks, Canisters. Responsibilities include quality improvements, value optimization, weight reduction, and efficiency improvements. Communication of technical product status to management is also required.
The Design Release Engineer will interact with suppliers and work closely with internal and external groups (testing & prototype labs, CAE engineers, vehicle program team, supplier operations, and manufacturing plants).
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (or equivalent). BSME preferred.
- +3 years of design/development automotive engineering experience in Fuel Systems and/or UREA. Internship experience in Fuel Systems (UREA considered) is acceptable.
- Self-starter with strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Experience in Formula SAE, Baja, or similar college activities is beneficial.
- Extensive automotive experience, product engineering experience, and prototype experience preferred.
- Experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis), DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report), DFSS (Design for Six Sigma), and preferred Belt certification.
- Solid understanding of system/component design.
- General understanding of NX, TeamCenter, and CoDeP preferred.
- Residency and work authorization in Mexico required.
