Full-Time Geologist I

AECOM is seeking a Geologist I to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct environmental fieldwork (water level measurements, soil, groundwater, soil gas, surface water, and pore water sample collection).
• Record remediation system data, soil logging, and oversee field surveys, well installation, well development, and utility clearances.
• Prepare field documents, collect, process, and interpret field data.
• Support office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
• Interpret and record data, analyze findings, compare results to regulations, and ensure compliance.
• Travel to project locations, including overnight stays.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Geology or related field and 0 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Valid US Driver's License and must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.
• US Citizenship.
• Obtain and maintain medical clearance for driving and wearing a respirator.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and drive a full-size pickup truck.
• Travel up to 60-80% for fieldwork, possibly out-of-state.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of site investigations, including sampling (soil/groundwater/vapor), installations (soil boring/monitoring wells), and reporting.
• Experience with various drilling techniques (DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, mud-rotary, etc.).
• Experience in NCDEQ programs (DSCA Program, UST Trust Fund, Brownfields, REC).
• OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training
• Skills in Database, GIS, CAD, and visualization software.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, ArcGIS, EQuIS.
• Excellent communication (written and oral) skills.
