Role DescriptionDropbox is seeking a seasoned copywriter, editor, and manager to lead the Copywriting team. The role is on a newly centralized Writing Team within Comms and Brand, overseeing writing quality and consistency across the company.
This key role shapes how Dropbox presents itself to customers. The position involves managing a team of writers producing landing pages, long-form articles, product updates, emails, and other high-impact marketing materials.
Responsibilities
- Own the content intake process with the content strategy team, refining operations for efficiency and better results.
- Edit content drafts (campaign messaging, customer stories, emails, etc.).
- Solicit feedback and approvals from stakeholders, including senior leaders.
- Mentor and develop the skills of the writing team.
- Guide the team through stakeholder feedback while prioritizing writing excellence and brand voice.
Requirements
- 12+ years experience in journalism, editorial content, or copywriting; minimum 4 years at a tech company in a content role.
- 3-4 years experience leading a high-performing content team.
- Proven ability to create excellent content; a robust portfolio of engaging and diverse content (webpage copy, stories, campaigns).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; handling feedback from various stakeholders.
- Organized, process-oriented; adept at building and managing team processes and deadlines.
- Passionate about writing; expertise in voice, style, rhythm, structure, conciseness, and grammatical accuracy.
- Curiosity about technology and its impact on communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as both an editor and writer.
- Mix of journalism and tech marketing experience.
- Writing at the core of your career; not seeking candidates focused primarily on content strategy governance, SEO, etc. A skilled storyteller is preferred.
- Experience writing in marketing or brand contexts (beyond strictly journalism).
Compensation
Canada Pay Range: $167,900 – $227,100 CAD
