Full-Time Infrastructure Backup Engineer

We are looking for a passionate Infrastructure Backup Engineer to provide high-quality support to a large multi-client community. The role involves ensuring the effective operation and availability of the backup Infrastructure for both external and internal customers.

Responsibilities:

• Providing day-to-day global operational activities for Backup/Recovery teams
• Administering Enterprise Backup/Restore and Archival and Retrieval
• Ensuring support calls are dealt with within SLA timescales
• Capacity planning and performance analysis of backup and recovery infrastructure
• Creating and Managing Dataset, Schedule and Retention Policy
• Monitoring AVAMAR backups and recovering failed backups
• Configuring/Managing VMware, OVM & OSSP backups
• Ensuring backup of critical system/application infrastructure via Avamar
• Troubleshooting Backup/Recovery related issues
• Performing proactive backup maintenance, installing patches, and upgrades
• Producing reports from Avamar to assist in backup success/failure, capacity planning, and consolidation

Requirements:

• Experience with backup technology
• Experience creating and modifying backup policies
• Experience configuring new and existing backup clients
• Experience on Enterprise Level Backup Systems
• Experience providing support to internal and external stakeholders
• Hands-on experience with Multi-Site Replication
• Experience with Windows and vSphere

Desirable:

• Experience within an ITIL Environment
• Experience with Linux
• Hands-on experience with Dell Avamar Systems
• Basic Understanding of Network Infrastructure
