We are looking for an IT Release Manager to join our growing team! Your primary responsibility is to work with development and operations teams to ensure release scheduling. Focus on smooth change flow through pre-production environments, culminating in successful production deployment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate IT release cycles for smooth deployments and integrations.
- Oversee the complete release process (planning, scheduling, coordinating, deploying) to minimize production disruptions.
- Manage dependencies to maintain release integrity.
- Ensure deployments and testing occur within development environments according to the release schedule and framework.
- Create release guidelines for company-wide distribution.
- Collaborate with engineering/architects to assess and adapt release milestones.
- Define deployment plan interdependencies with engineering and project management.
- Define environment requirements and specifications with PMO, engineering, and QA.
- Define and enforce production entry criteria.
- Provide full visibility into release readiness, Go/No-Go decisions, and milestone reviews.
- Collaborate with delivery/release managers from other business units.
- Establish and maintain build and release procedures documentation.
- Develop and maintain a release management plan and calendar aligned with business goals.
- Monitor, measure, and manage the deployment process (sandbox, QA, DEV, production releases).
- Identify and mitigate release risks.
- Provide status updates and communicate release plans to stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve release/deployment issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 8+ years of release management experience (preferably in software development or IT operations)
- Proven leadership skills
- Experience liaising with offshore teams and managing distributed release processes.
- Strong understanding of release management best practices, tools, and methodologies
- Knowledge of SDLC and DevOps
- Project management knowledge and techniques
- Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools
- Cloud environment experience
- Understanding of application infrastructure and system architecture
- Agile Coaching or training experience
- Data analysis skills to inform priorities and identify challenges/opportunities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work under pressure
- Experience in developing documentation, runbooks, user guides, and training materials
- Ability to drive process improvements and implement changes
