Contractor Java Developer - Telematics

Prepare technical design and develop telematics product features using Java/J2EE and Database related technologies.

Collaborate with product management teams to translate telematics feature specifications into high-quality, timely deliverables.

Develop service and client-side code and database scripts that can support high-volume transactions.Produce clean, unit-tested, and refactored code.

Analyze and troubleshoot production issues and develop solutions to fix reported defects.

Analyze and report production issue and ticket trends, provide recommendations.

Analyze current technologies, develop steps and processes to improve them.

Perform production issue triage, tracking, troubleshooting, ticket creation and maintenance.

Work with stakeholders to satisfy customer requests and resolve issues.

Identify root causes of technical issues (production and out-of-box failures), create RCA documents.

Coordinate root cause analysis, problem management, and meetings with management.

Maintain knowledge of production systems, best practices, tools, and techniques.

Identify issues and risks related to Issue/Incident Management and take escalation actions.

Interact with project teams for new product development.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field
2. 7+ years of development and design experience with Java, J2EE, and database technologies, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role

Preferred Requirements:

• 4+ years of recent experience in Java and J2EE technologies
• Experience with J2EE technologies (Spring framework, iBatis/MyBatis, ORM, REST/SOAP Web Services, Java design patterns, MVC, JMS, Servlets)
• Hands-on experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL), complex query writing, SQL analysis and tuning
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
• Experience deploying applications on J2EE servers (JBoss, WebLogic, Tomcat)
• Production incident and issue management experience with strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Experience working on complex technical projects in a multi-vendor environment
• Ability to coordinate with stakeholders and get the job done independently
• Flexibility in working between development and support applications
• Teamwork and excellent communication skills
• Multitasking and composure
• Nice to Have: Knowledge of SOA vs micro services, connected car architecture, systems integration, and in-vehicle services
• Experience writing and maintaining functional and technical designs (UML or EA)
• Experience with Jenkins, JIRA, Eclipse, Git, Bitbucket, Unix
• Front-end technology knowledge (web/smart phone)
• Understanding of SSL/TLS certificate technologies and networking protocols
