Full-Time Jr. Technical Writer - Remote

Salary Range: Up to $57,000 yearly, depending on skills, experience, and location.

Job Summary: Seeking a detail-oriented Junior Technical Writer with at least 1 year of experience. The ideal candidate will create clear and concise technical documentation including equipment manuals, appendices, and operating and maintenance instructions. Collaboration with technical teams is crucial to ensure accuracy and clarity. Assistance with layout to enhance visual accessibility and organization is also required.

1. Technical Documentation Creation: Write and edit technical materials (e.g., manuals, appendices, user guides) with accuracy and clarity. Work closely with engineers, developers, and subject matter experts to translate complex information into user-friendly documentation.
2. Operating and Maintenance Instructions: Develop operating and maintenance instructions for equipment/systems. Update and revise existing documentation as needed.
3. Layout and Document Formatting: Assist with layout/formatting for visually organized and easily readable documents. Ensure consistency in style, tone, and formatting across all documentation.

Minimum Requirements:

• 1+ year of experience in technical writing or related field
• Strong written communication skills with attention to detail and clarity
• Basic knowledge of technical documentation standards and best practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with technical writing tools (Adobe Acrobat, MadCap Flare, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in document layout and design
• Familiarity with content management systems or knowledge management software

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Clearance Requirement:

• Active Public Trust or ability to obtain one
