Full-Time Lead Writer/Spokesperson II, Personal Finance

NerdWallet is seeking a Writer/Spokesperson to support our Core Personal Finance Team. Partner with our Content and PR/Communications team to grow share of voice as a NerdWallet spokesperson, specializing in personal finance, investing, banking, and small business topics, owning at least one vertical of the large Core Personal Finance content library.

Oversee pages of work optimized for accuracy, timeliness, authority, and to meet or beat competitor offerings. Focus on growing NerdWallet’s audiences and authority as a source of financial clarity and know-how through written and spoken word across platforms, including NerdWallet.com and its native app; media broadcasts; articles by other media outlets; and the Smart Money podcast.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage your section of Core Personal Finance’s content library to drive registrations and sessions. Optimize content for seasonal or event-driven traffic and use syndication strategically.
• Write with clear objectives and brainstorm new formats for each platform.
• Act as subject-matter expert, proposing articles, tools, and initiatives that support business objectives.
• Pitch and develop compelling consumer-first content, collaborating with teammates and editors to test differentiated content.
• Collaborate on proactive media outreach, identifying breaking news and trends.
• Build relationships with reporters, partnering with PR counterpart to identify and engage target media.
• Serve as a media spokesperson, providing insights to validate NerdWallet’s credibility.
• Collaborate with team members during peak periods to support consumer financial decisions.
• Optimize content for user engagement, registrations, and business metrics.
• Manage and enhance the Core Personal Finance content library for maximum reach.
• Leverage syndication and cross-platform strategies to grow audience and authority.
