Opportunity at a Glance We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course by course basis.
Course of instruction may include:
- NR582NP - Leadership and Role Development for Advanced Nursing Practice - This course explores advanced nursing leadership theory, roles, and skills, necessary to advance healthcare outcomes across diverse settings. Examination of policy and advocacy at all levels of the system will enable learners to act as definitive change agents in evolving healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
- Completes and performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
- MSN and DNP (or MSN and PhD in nursing) degrees are required
- A minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience at the graduate level (online experience highly preferred)
- Board certification as a nurse practitioner (required)
- Must have an active unencumbered compact RN nursing license (multi-state)
- Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction
- Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills
- Must obtain Illinois nursing license (if not already obtained) prior to teaching
Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online: In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
