The Manager of Marketing will lead content and product marketing efforts on open-source projects, including OpenSearch, within Linux Foundation’s central marketing team. Develop technical and strategic narratives to highlight the platform’s value to developers and enterprises.
This role demands expertise in open-source technologies, enterprise search, and familiarity with the competitive landscape.
- Content Development: Produce technical blogs, white papers, and case studies to demonstrate OpenSearch’s capabilities and differentiators.
- Product Messaging: Craft compelling messaging for features (e.g., full-text search, observability, analytics) that resonate with technical and enterprise users.
- Market Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of competitors (e.g., Elasticsearch) to refine positioning.
- Collaboration: Partner with performance marketing and community teams to amplify content across channels.
- Content Calendar Management: Maintain a strategic content calendar aligned with project milestones and campaigns.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Increase technical content engagement rates.
- Drive marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) through targeted content efforts.
- Enhance OpenSearch’s share of voice in enterprise search.
- Increase enterprise adoption through aligned messaging and campaigns.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in content strategy or product marketing, with a focus on B2B technology or open-source ecosystems.
- Deep understanding of OpenSearch and its ecosystem, including features.
- Familiarity with competing technologies and their market positioning.
- Proven technical writing skills (developer and enterprise focused).
- Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to translate technical concepts into impactful marketing materials.
- Strong analytical and storytelling skills, adapting content to different audience personas.
- Demonstrated success in building multi-channel content strategies that drive measurable results.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, computer science, or a related field.
Salary: $100,000 - $123,000 USD
