Part-Time MSN NP - Faculty

WHAT TO EXPECT AS A WALDEN FACULTY MEMBER:

• Educate Walden University students using online technology and resources.
• Grade assignments, participate in discussions, and respond to student emails.
• Use technology to enhance the learning experience.

TRAINING:

• New faculty receive training in online teaching, use of electronic learning platforms, and university policies.
• Assessment of academic integrity of student work.
• Research supervision of theses and dissertations.

COURSE/ TEACHING AVAILABILITY:

• Faculty members are assigned courses and interact with students within Canvas.
• Expected to be in the classroom a minimum of 4 days/week.
• Responses to student questions must be posted within 48 hrs.

LICENSING/ CERTIFICATION:

• Must be appropriately credentialed and work currently as a NP.
• Possess an earned degree from an accredited institution.
• All NP Faculty are required to obtain RN and APRN licensure in the state of Minnesota.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• Earned Doctorate.
• A record of professional scholarly contributions.
• A minimum of one year experience of teaching in higher education.
• Current clinical experience in NP practice.
• Teaching experience, preferred online teaching experience.

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS:

• Personal computer with virus protection and Internet access.
• Current Web browser, Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Reader.
