We’re looking for a versatile Multimedia Content Creator to join our General Assignment Unit—someone who can craft compelling written and video content that captivates online audiences.
In this hybrid role, you’ll cover a wide range of lifestyle and entertainment topics, using the latest production techniques and tapping into digital trends to engage viewers and boost our reach.
In this role, you’ll:
- Generate and pitch story ideas tailored for digital platforms.
- Produce engaging written and video reports using creative production techniques like graphics and new media.
- Shoot, write, edit, and deliver high-quality video content optimised for various channels—including YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and our brand websites.
- Stay on top of the latest trends in digital storytelling, adapting content for each platform’s unique audience.
- Contribute to strategies that drive video monetisation.
- Collaborate with brand teams and distribution colleagues to ensure content performs at its best everywhere it appears.
- Engage with audiences across social media to boost reach and interaction.
- Use analytics tools to refine strategy and improve results.
- Embrace AI tools in line with company policy to optimise content creation for accuracy and efficiency.
- Create compelling affiliate content that drives revenue and traffic to partner sites, always aligning with brand guidelines.
- Tailor stories for off-platform channels when appropriate while upholding editorial standards.
- Consider audio and video elements for every story, capturing or curating footage as needed.
- Actively contribute to building a diverse and inclusive organisation that reflects our communities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field—or an NCTJ qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
- Comfortable using video editing tools like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
- Familiar with major social media platforms.
- Proven experience as a journalist or reporter focused on digital content is required.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver compelling stories in both text and video formats.
- Experience in varied roles with a broad remit is preferred.
- Strong command of English language and grammar.
- Skilled at creating engaging written and video content tailored for different platforms.
- Strong digital writing abilities and the knack for injecting personality and the right tone into your work.
- Good understanding of SEO for both video and written pieces is essential.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, time management, and professionalism are a must.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs.
