What will the role involve?
You will write and develop stories, with great pictures and engaging video. Deliver fast turnaround on local community stories, engaging many readers with exclusive stories. Ensure every piece of content is researched and published in accordance with the Editor's Code of practice. Use a range of digital formats and quickly identify breaking news by utilizing social media.
Who are we looking for?
Experienced journalist with NCTJ or equivalent qualification and media law knowledge. For trainee candidates with NCTJ preliminary or equivalent, you must be bold, confident, comfortable meeting people, and develop a strong contacts book. First rate editing, writing, and subbing skills are necessary. Relish working under pressure and to tight deadlines. Social media savvy with current SEO knowledge, and ideally, familiarity with newsroom analytics and content management systems. Flexible, inquisitive, and on the pulse of what makes a great story!
