Overview:Rescale is a leader in enterprise big compute. We're looking for a motivated Network & Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This role is ideal for someone with 1-5 years of experience in setting up and maintaining both cloud and on-premise networks and VPNs. You will have a foundational understanding of Linux systems administration and security patching. You will directly interact with customers and engineers, collaborating with their teams to resolve issues and implement solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Network & VPN Setup and Maintenance (25%): Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud and on-premise network infrastructures, including VPNs. Monitor network stability and performance. Be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation for customer VPN support.
- Customer Interaction (20%): Communicate with customers about network and system needs, troubleshooting issues. Collaborate with customer teams to resolve technical challenges.
- Documentation & Reporting (10%): Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, VPN setups, system patches, and security protocols. Provide updates and status reports to internal teams and customers.
- Linux Systems Administration (20%): Perform routine administrative tasks on Linux systems, including updates, backups, and system maintenance. Set up and manage servers and services using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
- Security and Vulnerability Management (25%): Apply patches and updates to systems. Stay informed about security threats and harden systems against risks.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 1+ years of experience in network or system administration.
- Experience with Terraform and Ansible is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and on-premise networks.
- Familiarity with VPN technologies (IPSec, OpenVPN, AWS Site-to-Site VPN, Cisco IOS).
- Basic Linux system administration experience (RHEL, CentOS).
- Understanding of security best practices and patch management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Bonus skills: Experience with network monitoring and security tools, firewall configurations.
