Network and Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
Designs, implements, monitors, and manages local and wide area networks for optimal performance and reliability.
Manages all network hardware and equipment (routers, switches, hubs, UPSs) for M3USA employees and subsidiaries.
Maintains expertise in network platforms to provide innovative solutions to business requirements.
Works varied hours and locations as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- System Maintenance and Upgrades: Installs and configures software/hardware, performs regular updates, and ensures optimal performance and security.
- Network Administration: Manages network servers and tools, sets up accounts and workstations, and ensures network security.
- Network Management: Monitors network performance, ensures system availability, and conducts regular performance tests and system upgrades (service packs, patches, security configurations).
- Troubleshooting: Diagnoses and resolves hardware, software, and network/system problems. Follows Severity 1/outage procedures and participates in after-hours upgrades/on-call availability.
- Security Management: Implements and manages security measures to protect data, software, and hardware, monitors security certificates, and ensures company compliance.
- Backup and Recovery: Develops and maintains backup/recovery procedures, ensures regular backups of all systems and data, and tests recovery processes.
- Documentation: Creates and maintains documentation for all systems and network configurations, changes, and updates.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitors system performance, ensures reliability/availability of IT resources, and optimizes system performance.
- Collaboration: Works closely with IT team members and other departments to plan/implement IT projects, understand IT needs, and provide solutions.
- Project Management: Participates in IT projects, provides input on system requirements/design, manages/executes assigned projects, ensures timely completion and budget adherence.
- VoIP and Telephony Management: Manages VoIP/telephony systems, administrates contracts/vendor relationships, ensures reliability/performance of telephony services, and troubleshoots issues.
- Video Conferencing Solutions: Administers/supports video conferencing solutions, ensures seamless operation/integration with other communication tools, troubleshoots issues.
- Load Balancer Management: Manages/maintains load balancers to ensure optimal network traffic distribution, monitors/troubleshoots load balancer performance for high availability.
- Cloud: Assists with development, engineering, and maintenance of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Travel: Regular travel to M3USA sites (20-30%).
Minimum Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of experience supporting, managing, and administering complex enterprise LAN/WAN networks and computer systems (VOIP, VPN, Windows/Linux servers).
Desired Qualifications:
- CCNA/CCIE/CCNP/Network+ certifications.
- Linux experience.
- Powershell administration knowledge.
- Scripting knowledge.
- Familiarity with Active Directory and/or Azure AD.
- Experience with OpenStack and/or AWS/Azure cloud computing/IaaS.
- Strong knowledge of networking.
- Experience with security framework audits.
- Awareness of Power Platforms.
