Full-Time Nurse Field Experience Coordinator

Opportunity at a GlanceThe Nurse Field Experience Coordinator assists with the practicum and field experience processes for the College of Nursing. This is a full-time position in the College of Nursing reporting to the Field Experience Supervisor. The Office of Field Experience is supervised by the Director of Field Experience. This position will work with field experience coordinators, academic leadership, program directors, specialty coordinators, faculty, academic advisors, contract administrators, support staff, and other administrators in the college.

Responsibilities

1. Review and approve field sites and preceptors submitted on practicum applications to ensure they meet practicum course requirements.
2. Perform outreach to preceptors to assist with Field Experience systems & programs.
3. Process and maintain student Field Experience files, applications, preceptor information, and field placement site information.
4. Partner with university contract administrators and serve as an initial affiliation agreement liaison between university and outside practicum agencies.
5. Assist specialty coordinators and field experience faculty in resolving student problems arising out of the practicum experience following established communication system and supervisor direction.
6. Develop and maintain communications about practicum experience policies and procedures to students, academic advising, program directors, and faculty/specialization coordinators.
7. Manage and administer student evaluations to monitor student practicum progress and satisfaction.
8. Communicate with students via phone and electronic methods to counsel and advise students across nursing programs on Field Experience information, requirements, policies, and procedures.
9. Maintain Field Experience resources (e.g., manual, website, webinars) outlining the mission, purpose, and objectives of the field experience and all policies and procedures.
10. Prepare, complete, and maintain reports, files, and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
11. Assist in training and mentoring new team members.
12. Identify and develop new initiatives to increase student satisfaction through the practicum experience.
13. Work in partnership with Field Experience staff members to accomplish Field Experience goals.
14. Attend meetings and participate in professional development programs as requested.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Nurse Field Experience Supervisor and/or the Director of Operations of Field Experience.

Location: TX, AZ, NM, NV, UT, OR, WA

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in health or human services
• Active and unencumbered RN licensure

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a health-related field

Experience: understanding of clinical nursing practice, students, and diverse organizational environments.

Skills: analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, multitasking, organizational, customer service, time management, creative, innovative, strategic thinking, ability to work independently with faculty and graduate students at a distance, anticipating future trends and problems, learning administrative databases and software, team work, academic advising, online distance learning, working with graduate students in educational environments, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Compensation: $31.35 - $36.06/hour
