To be part of a team providing Database and Application services to Local Government clients and managing associated 3rd parties for technical support.
Provide high-quality Incident, Change, and Problem Management to many clients covering various hosting services, working with contracted SLAs and delivering best-in-class services.
Primary functions: Provide database/application administration and support as needed.
Manage Oracle, SQL Server, and Postgres Databases.
Administer applications.
Provide DBA and Application support services.
Setup, manage, and support databases and applications.
Produce standard documentation and procedures.
Manage problem management, eliminate repeat incidents, and ensure compliance with NEC quality standards.
Available for out-of-hours and some weekend work (7 days on a 1 in 4 week basis) for standby.
Essential skills: Minimum 3 years of Oracle 12c/19c + Postgres 11+ Database administration, upgrades, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
Ability to provide application services, upgrades, and administration.
Understanding of platform technology. Experience with SQL Server 2012+ is beneficial.
Requirement NPPV and Security Clearance.
Strong interpersonal/team skills, analytical and organized skills, flexibility, adaptability, good communication, client-facing/customer service skills, stress tolerance, and self-motivation.
Possess a full, current driving licence.
Desirable skills: Oracle Accreditation, SQL Server Accreditation, Postgres Accreditation, UNIX scripting, ITIL Practitioner, technical awareness of outside remit technologies, familiarity with local government back-office applications.
