Job Details
Chamberlain College of Nursing seeks Part-Time Nursing Faculty interested in teaching with our BSN Nursing program online. You will be teaching students in the role of facilitator, role model, coach and advisor. Incorporating Chamberlain Care philosophy to educate and embolden diverse nursing professionals.
Part-time professors lead asynchronous discussions and teach 2 synchronous live lectures each week on Wednesdays; one between 7am-12pm Central Time plus one between 5pm-9:30pm Central Time.
Professors will be available via email, online conferencing or telephone, to provide support and respond to student's enquiries in a timely manner.
We are presently accepting applications from experienced faculty with experience teaching in the following areas of course specialization:
- NR 283 Pathophysiology: This course explores the pathophysiological processes of disease.
- NR293 Pharmacology: This course covers the clinical aspects of drug therapy. Key topics include safe administration, dosage calculation, side and adverse effects, nursing implications.
Chamberlain University courses follow an 8-week session plan.
Responsibilities:
- Course Preparation: Provide students with a Chamberlain University approved syllabus. Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials.
- Technological Integration: Use appropriate technological options for online technologies.
- Communication: Model effective oral and written communications that engage students.
- Course Management: Set clear expectations for the course. Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students. Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or higher is required
- Unencumbered Compact licensure is required
- Illinois RN licensure will be required to teach all courses
- 2+ years' experience teaching didactic nursing courses for a college or university is required
- Experience teaching nursing Patho & Pharma courses is required
- Teaching experience with an online learning platform such as Canvas is preferred
The expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience.
