Full-Time Policy Developer (Hybrid)

• Enhancing the ISO markets
• Developing enhancements to resource supply adequacy
• Developing new market rules and products
• Decarbonization of the electricity and transportation sectors
• Operational, environmental, and cost benefits from a larger regional electric grid
• Customer adoption of new technologies

• Participates and represents the policy team in meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Evaluate, propose, and assist in the development of enhancements to the ISO’s markets
• Identify technical and regulatory barriers and create solutions to enable the integration of distributed energy resources into the ISO market.
• Evaluate, propose, and assist in the development of ISO positions on related policies being considered by public agencies
• Actively engage in regulatory proceedings to represent ISO policies and positions.
• Effectively communicate issues and proposed enhancements in writing and orally.
• Develop substantial white papers that effectively communicate complex issues.
• Make oral presentations to internal and external audiences
• Develop, facilitate, and partner on cross-departmental teams and projects
• Coordinate with implementation teams to ensure ISO market enhancements are appropriately planned and implemented
• Assist in analysis to identify flaws in current policies or other barriers to efficient operation
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop policies and procedures for efficient markets and reliable grid operation.

• Prior experience performing policy analysis related to commodity markets is strongly desired.
• Policy development and/or regulatory processes at the federal or state levels, or similar experience desired.
• Experience writing and presenting technical proposals and reports to diverse audiences
• Past experience in working with teams and/or stakeholder groups
• Experience developing and managing project plans and teams
• Experience with resource adequacy policies, wholesale and/or retail market design
