Opportunity at a Glance We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course by course basis.
Course of instruction may include:
- NR602 - Primary Care of the Childbearing and Childrearing Family Practicum - This course continues to expand the knowledge of health assessment principles specific to the role of the FNP, with a focus on the healthcare needs of women and families throughout reproductive and childrearing years. Students will further develop their skills related to health promotion, prevention of illness, diagnosis and management of health problems commonly experienced. Care strategies will include patient education, protocol development, follow-up and referral through a clinical practicum experience in a precepted primary care setting.
Responsibilities
- Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, and which includes the terminal course objectives.
- Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and update all course materials.
- Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including Websites, e-mail, and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
- Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
- Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives, assignment/examinations dates, and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
- Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
- Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
MSN and DNP (or MSN and PhD in nursing) degrees are required
A minimum of 1-2 years online teaching experience at the graduate level is required
Must have an active unencumbered compact RN nursing license (multi-state)
FNP certification required
Clinical experience as FNP required
Online teaching experience - highly preferred
Must have subject matter expertise in the course of instruction
Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment
Must be willing to obtain Illinois nursing license (if not already obtained) prior to teaching

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
