The typical course of instruction may include:
NR-601: Primary Care of the Maturing and Aged Family Practicum
This course continues to expand the knowledge of health-assessment principles specific to the role of the FNP with a focus on the common health problems and healthcare needs of the middle-aged and older adult and family. The student will explore, analyze, apply and evaluate chronic health conditions frequently encountered in the primary care of older adults. Students will further develop their skills related to patient education, protocol development, follow-up and referral through a clinical practicum experience in a precepted primary-care setting.
Experience required:
- Must be certified as FNP by AANP or ANCC and have clinical experience as FNP
- Must have DNP or PhD or EdD or other relevant doctoral degree
- A minimum of 2 years teaching with a background in precepting students
- Professional Development experience preferred
- An active unencumbered Compact RN nursing license (Required)
- Must at least have a temporary Illinois RN License or willing to obtain one before March 2025. The process to obtain one might take 6+ months. (willing to obtain at own expense)
Faculty must have excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment
Proficient in using MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), WebEx/Teams (or similar platform) and Internet with a strong emphasis on Excel
will use up to 4 interfaces: Canvas, Camsoft, iHuman, Metrics
Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online: In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
