Principal Platform Architect is a technical advisory role, helping customers establish a strong ServiceNow platform foundation and design solutions for business outcomes.
This role establishes and supports best practices regarding instance strategy, technical governance, core data, integrations, and overall platform health. It's a consultative role, not performing platform configuration; instead, it guides partner/customer resources for best practices.
Interfaces with customers at executive, platform owner, enterprise architect, and development team levels during selling, structuring, and implementing solutions.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Senior-level enterprise architect experience
- Successful track record in management consulting (professional services or cloud software companies)
- Focus on technology strategy, governance, data, and solution design
- Proven ability to advise senior executives and facilitate customer success
- Experience in identifying business value, creating roadmaps, defining execution strategies (governance frameworks), managing large enterprise programs
Responsibilities:
- Strong relationships with CIOs and business leaders to understand client visions and ServiceNow's role in their digital transformation.
- Translate business objectives into a customer roadmap.
- Enterprise architecture: Analyze and translate business/technical requirements into architectural blueprints.
- Engage with customer enterprise architects to integrate ServiceNow as a digital transformation platform.
- Establish and manage technical governance processes.
- Drive instance health by reviewing and guiding configuration remediation.
- Collaborate with clients and ServiceNow teams to ensure successful go-lives, user adoption, and ongoing support.
- Advocate ServiceNow's best practices and industry use cases.
- Contribute thought leadership on optimizing advisory and expert services.
- Guide clients toward a prescriptive solution design and technical implementation.
- Define solutions that align with ServiceNow's capabilities.
- Support sales effort scoping and estimation.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience leveraging or critically evaluating AI integration into work processes.
- Canadian citizenship or permanent residency, residing in Toronto.
- Consulting experience (preferred: Big 4, strategy firms, OEM software, or cloud companies).
- 8+ years of management consulting experience in technology (digital/SaaS/enterprise software).
- Fortune 500 or OEM/cloud company enterprise architect experience.
- Career progression in technical architecture.
- Experience with functional business leaders.
- Experience identifying business objectives and developing outcome-focused roadmaps.
- Experience with large consulting/SI organizations.
- 10+ years of large program experience leading architecture and design.
- Enterprise architecture experience/certification (TOGAF, IT4IT, etc.).
- Database, core data design, security, and integrations expertise.
- Cloud application technology experience (e.g., Salesforce, Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle Cloud, Remedy).
- 2+ years of ServiceNow Platform experience.
- Cloud platform certifications.
