Contractor Project Manager - Commercial Banking

Role: IT Project Manager - Commercial Banking domain experience

Duration: Long Term

Location: Manhattan, NYC (Hybrid)

Active PMP or PMI-ACP Certification Needed.

Responsibilities

• We are seeking an experienced project manager familiar with running agile and waterfall projects.
• This job is a fit for you if you have significant experience in planning, executing and delivering projects with deep knowledge of software development and system integration initiatives.
• Your success will require the ability to understand the technical requirements and be able to communicate with technical resource managers and application development managers.
• As a project manager, you are expected to be the primary point of contact in delivering business value for our organization.

The day-to-day responsibilities of the role include:

• Develop project plan and phase documentation, including resource and cost management, test plans, and appropriate monitoring and control activities
• Coordinate the collection and management of business requirements
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and establish communication cadence with project team
• Collaborate with development managers to plan work scope, resource allocation and schedules
• Adhere to governance controls such as RACI cards, traceability matrices and toll gate reviews

Qualifications

• PMP or PMI-ACP credential
• At least 7 years’ experience as a project manager in the financial services industry, preferably banking
• Proficiency with "tools of the trade" - Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow and Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Experience managing project budgets and reporting of project financials
• Strong communications and stakeholder management skills, including establishment of communication cadence to the project team
• Experience working and managing third party vendors including requirements specification as well as delivery management
• Ability to work under limited supervision and to quickly grasp complex problems and provide solutions
