Chamberlain University College of Nursing is seeking Online Faculty (part-time) for our Master of Science in Nursing Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN PMHNP) Program.

We are accepting applications from qualified candidates with interest in teaching a variety of courses, including:
- NR547 - Differential Diagnosis in Psychiatric-Mental Health Across the Lifespan Practicum: This course provides fundamental knowledge for formulating differential diagnoses in a psychiatric mental health setting. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is introduced.
- NR548 - Psychiatric Assessment for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner: This course expands health assessment principles to perform psychiatric mental health assessments.
- NR605 - Diagnosis & Management in Psychiatric-Mental Health across the Lifespan I Practicum: This course incorporates psychosocial theories, individual & group therapies for non-pharmacological/adjunct treatment of disorders.
- NR606 - Diagnosis & Management in Psychiatric-Mental Health II Practicum: Focuses on perinatal, child, and adolescent populations.
- NR607 - Diagnosis & Management in Psychiatric-Mental Health III Practicum: Expands knowledge to include complex mental health diagnoses and psychiatric emergencies.
- NR668 - Psychiatric-Mental Health Capstone Practicum & Intensive: Synthesizes clinical management skills and knowledge, analyzes patient assessment and healthcare intervention.
Responsibilities Include:
- Inspire student success with feedback and encouragement.
- Engage students in asynchronous discussions (4 days/week).
- Evaluate student progress through quizzes, exams, and assignments.
- Display Chamberlain Care by fostering a respectful and collaborative environment.
- Meet student needs with diversity in age, culture, and preparation.
- Enhance student engagement by providing help and support.
- Introduce industry perspective, trends, and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and submit grades on time.
- Use appropriate online technologies (Websites, email, online discussions).
- Model effective oral and written communication to improve student learning.
- Set clear course expectations with objectives, dates, and evaluation criteria.
- Ensure exam content aligns with course objectives.
- Provide timely support via email or telephone.
- Facilitate discussions and critical thinking skills.
- Evaluate student critical thinking and application of program proficiencies.
- Communicate with students at least 4 times weekly and promptly respond to inquiries.
Qualifications:
- MSN and DNP (or MSN and PhD in nursing) degrees.
- At least 1 year of practice experience in psychiatric mental health nursing.
- Preferred: Online teaching experience (graduate level)
- Active, unencumbered RN license (compact/multi-state licensure required). Illinois RN license or willingness to obtain prior to orientation.
- PMHNP National Certification.
- Subject matter expertise in course of instruction.
- Excellent communication, motivational, and instructional skills in a diverse environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office, WebEx/Teams, and the internet.
Compensation: $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on candidate qualifications. Actual pay may vary due to job-related factors.
