Role Overview: Define and implement an automation strategy aligned with product goals and quality standards. Oversee test infrastructure (maintenance, optimization, scalability). Mentor and upskill the team. Develop best practices and processes. Contribute to engineering initiatives by defining quality metrics.
Test Automation Strategy: Advocate for test automation best practices. Establish, document, and enforce standards for consistent, efficient automation. Increase automation coverage, reduce manual testing to near-complete automation.
Collaboration and Guidance: Collaborate with QA engineers and developers to ensure comprehensive test coverage, create and maintain automated tests, guide team members on integrating automation, educate the team about automation benefits, and demonstrate effective automation leverage.
Monitoring and Analysis of Test Results: Monitor and analyze test results. Set up robust reporting systems, identify test failure trends, and provide actionable insights to the development team. Proactively address issues and prioritize development tasks.
Test Infrastructure Innovation: Ensure robust, resilient, and scalable test infrastructure. Maintain existing systems, plan for future growth, incorporate advancements in automation technologies and methodologies. Continuously improve infrastructure to handle increasing complexity and scale.
Qualifications: 10+ years experience in software automation for a SaaS product (Cypress, Jest, Mocha, Playwright). Knowledge of React, RESTful APIs, API testing tools (Postman), JavaScript/TypeScript, CI/CD pipelines, and SQL databases.
Nice to Have Skills: Experience with developer-focused products, unit testing (Jest, JUnit), load/performance testing.
