The Screening Team is dedicated to developing and commercializing early cancer detection products at Guardant Health.
About the Role: The field-based Regional Sales Director leads a team of Account Executives in a designated region, promoting SHIELD to general practice providers and their practices.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect and target early adopters, drive SHIELD adoption.
- Partner with national/regional/local labs for phlebotomy draw agreements.
- Build strong relationships with key thought leaders and decision-makers.
- Manage 8-12 direct reports (recruiting, coaching, developing).
- Achieve sales targets and provide regular progress reports.
- Forecast and achieve quarterly/annual sales goals.
- Ensure effective use of sales processes and marketing materials.
- Manage open territories and recruit new personnel.
- Develop a comprehensive business plan (budgets, travel, territory management, etc.).
- Gather customer insights, market trends, and competitive data.
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers and the commercial team.
- Maintain communication and collaboration within/outside the team.
- Uphold Guardant Health's values (integrity, respect, trust).
- Leverage Medical Science Liaisons and other resources to meet customer needs.
- Lead/participate in regional and national projects.
- Serve as a backup to the National Sales Director (s).
- Mentor individuals.
- Ensure sales force compliance with policies.
- Meet customer access requirements.
- Travel approximately 75% of working time within assigned area and occasionally outside for meetings.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years direct customer-facing sales experience (medical, diagnostic, or med device).
- 3+ years sales leadership/management experience.
- Proven revenue generation in the diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or relevant biotechnology industry.
- Experience leading sales teams promoting products/services directly to providers.
- Experience in a sales leadership role during a product launch.
- Strong influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and educate others.
- Proven ability to maintain market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge.
- Outstanding strategic business analysis and planning skills.
- Strong administrative skills and sophistication to manage complex environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
- Experience using/coaching with Salesforce.com.
Education: B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing is ideal.
Salary: $172,000 - $190,000 (US).
