The Screening Team is dedicated to developing and commercializing early cancer detection products at Guardant Health. This role focuses on accelerating the market entry of SHIELD.
About the Role: The field-based Regional Sales Director leads a team of Account Executives within a designated region. The RSD promotes SHIELD to general practice providers and their practices.
Responsibilities:
- Prospect, target, and identify early adopter lists to generate SHIELD adoption.
- Partner with national, regional, and local labs for phlebotomy draw agreements.
- Build relationships with key thought leaders and decision-makers in the assigned region.
- Manage 8-12 direct reports, recruiting, hiring, and coaching Account Executives.
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales goals.
- Effectively use sales processes, product marketing, and product promotion materials.
- Manage open territories and recruit new personnel.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the region.
- Collect customer insights, market trends, and competitive data.
- Collaborate with Key Account Managers and the commercial team.
- Maintain communication and team operating mechanisms.
- Demonstrate Guardant Health values, emphasizing integrity, respect, and a positive attitude.
- Leverage Medical Science Liaisons, Account Executives, and company resources for technical and clinical expertise.
- Lead and participate in regional and national projects.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Regulatory, and Company policies.
- Meet customer access requirements. Travel approximately 75% within the assigned region and some travel for regional/national meetings.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of customer-facing sales experience in medical, diagnostics, or med devices.
- 3+ years of sales leadership experience.
- Measurable revenue generation at a diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotech company.
- Experience leading sales teams that promote products/services to primary care providers.
- Experience in a sales leadership role during a product launch.
- Strong influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills.
- Ability to coach and educate others.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical, reporting, and tracking skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent product, market, customer, and distribution knowledge.
- Strategic business analysis and planning skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Experience with Salesforce.com.
- Education: BS in life science, biology, business, or marketing preferred.
Salary: $172,000 - $190,000 (USD)
