About the Role: The field-based Regional Sales Director leads a team of Account Executives within a designated region, effectively promoting SHIELD to general practice providers and their practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect, target, and identify early adopter list to generate SHIELD adoption.
  • Identify and partner with national, regional, and local labs for phlebotomy draw agreements.
  • Initiate and secure lab service draw agreements, establish strong partnerships, and manage relationships.
  • Identify and build relationships with key thought leaders and decision-makers.
  • Manage 8-12 direct reports, including recruitment, selection, coaching, and development.
  • Drive effective team performance through coaching, motivation, and inspiration.
  • Manage sales targets, providing ongoing progress reports.
  • Forecast and achieve quarterly and annual sales goals.
  • Ensure effective use of sales process, product marketing, and promotion materials.
  • Model and share best practices nationally.
  • Manage open territories and recruit new personnel.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan (budgets, travel, territory management, goal setting, etc.).
  • Collect customer insights, market trends, and competitive data, communicating to leadership and peers.
  • Leverage product and technical expertise for effective customer presentations.
  • Collaborate with Key Account Managers and the commercial team to optimize performance.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing communication and team mechanisms for information sharing.
  • Demonstrate company values (integrity, respect, trust, positive attitude).
  • Leverage Medical Science Liaisons, Account Executives, and resources for technical, clinical, and business content.
  • Lead and participate in regional and national projects.
  • Serve as backup to the National Sales Director (s).
  • Mentor individuals within or outside the commercial organization.
  • Ensure sales force compliance with Quality, Regulatory, and Company policies.
  • Meet customer access requirements.
  • Travel approximately 75% within assigned area and regionally/nationally for meetings.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of direct experience in customer-facing sales (medical, diagnostic, or med device).
  • 3+ years of sales leadership/management experience.
  • Demonstrated revenue generation (diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology).
  • Experience leading sales teams promoting products/services to primary care providers.
  • Experience in a sales leadership role during product launch.
  • Outstanding influencing, interpersonal, and networking skills.
  • Proven ability to coach and educate others.
  • Experience with Reach and frequency, high-decile healthcare provider targeting.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, reporting and tracking sales force metrics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, listening, problem-solving skills.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and customer service skills; consultative selling.
  • Outstanding market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge.
  • Excellent strategic business analysis and planning skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to develop and utilize cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively communicate, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong administrative skills and sophistication.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience using/coaching with Salesforce.com
  • B.S. in life science, biology, business, or marketing (ideal).
