Job Details
AECOM is seeking a Renewables Technical Lead to oversee a team of engineers and designers on renewable projects. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely or at various Energy offices across the US.
Our team provides engineering services for projects including commercial, industrial, and utility-scale installations focused on resiliency, efficiency, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Team Supervision and Leadership:
- Support the culture of technical excellence and accountability.
- Supervise and mentor engineers and designers.
- Lead improvements in project efficiencies and support recruiting efforts.
- Project Participation:
- Function as a technical lead and engineer of record.
- Perform engineering calculations.
- Support projects through their complete lifecycle.
- Ensure technical and safety standards are maintained.
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in design and integration of utility-scale renewable and battery storage systems.
- Current professional engineering license (PE).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of leadership/supervisory experience.
- 12+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with software like NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, Helioscope, Homer, ETAP, WindPRO.
- Knowledge of system financial estimation, PPA recommendation, and ROI calculation.
- MV AC Collection System Design Experience.
- Special design experience: floating PV, fuel cells.
- Proficient with NEC, IBC, and NFPA 855.
- Deep knowledge of utility practices, industry codes, and standards.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish.
- Field construction and commissioning experience.
