What will the role involve?
Write and develop engaging stories with compelling visuals (pictures and video). Find and tell stories about local Galway communities.
Ensure all content is researched and published according to the Editor’s Code of practice.
Utilize digital formats and identify breaking news via social media.
Who are we looking for?
Experienced journalist with a relevant journalism degree and media law knowledge.
Strong track record in delivering engaging human interest stories, ideally with live blogging experience and understanding of digital audience engagement.
Excellent editing, writing, and subbing skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Social media savvy with current SEO knowledge, and familiarity with newsroom analytics and content management systems is desirable.
Flexible, inquisitive, and a keen eye for compelling storytelling.
