The Research Analyst at CAPA – Centre for Aviation delivers timely and comprehensive commercial aviation news for members.
Responsibilities:
- Identify breaking industry news.
- Research and write concise articles.
- Expand news coverage across multiple platforms (website, email).
- Collaborate with team to ensure industry-leading news coverage.
- Improve processes and maintain high editorial standards.
Role Accountability and Duties:
Research & News Gathering:
- Thorough, time-sensitive searches for aviation news across sources (press releases, social media, websites).
- Maintain and expand a list of relevant news sources and assess for quality/reliability.
- Maintain/expand database of official press releases & direct news sources.
- Collaborate with team for timely research completion.
News Brief Writing:
- Write concise, accurate news briefs for CAPA website and email alerts.
- Meet/exceed KPIs for news output & quality standards.
- Incorporate editorial feedback.
Insight Article Writing:
- After training/industry knowledge, contribute to Insight articles.
- Identify key topics, research, and write longer-format articles for publication and distribution.
- Meet/exceed KPIs for Insight article output and quality standards.
- Support team by contributing to collaborative articles.
Cross-Team Collaboration:
- Share news items with CAPA teams to update databases, company profiles.
- Contribute to other publications, provide content for social media.
- Support research for events, marketing, and sales activities.
- Respond to research queries, deepen industry knowledge.
News Coverage at Events:
- (After training/experience) Attend CAPA Summits and aviation events for news brief coverage.
- Support hosting of CAPA Summits.
- Meet/exceed KPIs for news output and quality standards.
- Provide social media content and team support on-site.
Continuous Improvement:
- Offer feedback and suggestions for improving workflows and product quality.
- Stay informed on aviation trends for well-rounded news coverage.
Education & Experience:
- Graduate-level qualification (aviation, tourism, international relations, writing, etc.) preferred.
- Aviation/tourism experience advantageous.
- Multilingual proficiency advantageous.
Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional written communication and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines.
- Initiative, reliability, “can-do” attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to KPIs.
