Full-Time Research Assistant

THE POSITION: To support a wide range of systematic and targeted literature reviews.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with systematic and targeted literature reviews.
• Prepare research protocols, define and refine research questions related to literature review objectives.
• Develop inclusion/exclusion criteria within the PICOS framework for screening.
• Screen abstracts and full-text articles (in DistillerSR and/or other tools) against criteria for suitability.
• Create PRISMA flow diagrams depicting study attrition.
• Perform article abstraction and validate data abstraction.
• Conduct study quality assessments/risk of bias assessments.
• Perform quality checks of various review phases.
• Participate in client meetings (teleconferences, record minutes).
• Write technical reports, summaries, slide decks, and manuscripts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

• Travel: Some travel may be required.
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Overtime and/or weekend/evening hours possible.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• BSc or comparable degree in a medically-related field (biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, biology, or epidemiology).
• Experience in conducting systematic literature reviews is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking capabilities.
• Adaptable to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Office environment, frequent reaching, grasping, standing/sitting, walking, talking, hearing.
• Occasional lifting/moving up to 25 pounds.
• Moderately quiet, frequent interruptions and multiple demands.
