Job Details
We are looking for a talented Scientific Software Developers passionate about building cutting edge tools for materials science. As a Scientific Software Developer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our materials modelling suite to predict the properties of promising classes of novel materials. You will:
- Develop general-purpose tools for data-driven materials modelling.
- Design and orchestrate workflows of high-throughput calculations.
- Interface with our high-performance computing environments.
- Collaborate with our science team to identify goals for platform development.
What we think you will need to be successful:
- Minimum 2.1 first degree in a Physical Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+/- years of additional relevant experience, or PhD in Physical Science, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Excellent working knowledge of scientific principles.
- Some knowledge of computational modelling of materials.
- Track record of coding in Python for technical applications.
You may also have:
- Experience modelling semiconductor materials and/or working in the semiconductor industry.
- Successful track record applying for and/or managing grant funded projects.
- Ability in JavaScript, Fortran, Julia or C++.
- Understanding of containerisation technology (e.g., Docker).
- Experience in application of machine learning.
- Understanding of issues in material sustainability.
