Full-Time Senior Application Development Engineer

Centene is seeking a Senior Application Development Engineer to improve health outcomes for 28 million members worldwide.

Position Purpose: Designs, develops, and implements complex enterprise software solutions to improve current DevOps environment. Collaborates with technical and non-technical roles (data modelers, architects, business analysts, etc.) for design, development, testing, implementation, and support.

Responsibilities:

• Create new pipelines, automated scripts, and respond to tickets.
• Develop or prototype software modules (service interfaces, process flows, etc.).
• Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions, adhering to standards and best practices.
• Identify and assess architectural impacts from business requirements.
• Ensure application designs use appropriate patterns and standards.
• Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine design feasibility.
• Create conceptual and detailed technical design documents and collaborate with the business to update as needed.
• Identify and resolve problems, often anticipating issues.
• Develop and evaluate options to implement solutions.
• Utilize and contribute to the development of application coding techniques and standards.
• Collaborate with application architects, IS business analysts, and other technical resources.
• Participate in tier 3 application support (incident management, upgrades, patches).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., statistics, engineering, computer science) and 4-6 years of related experience, or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills: Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Java (or other relevant technologies)
