Full-Time Senior Cloud Database Engineer

We are seeking a Cloud Database Engineer proficient in DevOps and automation. Your responsibilities will include setting up cloud services, monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, and adhering to cloud architecture best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on next-generation product development.
• Support product development using cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Aurora Postgres, MySQL), DevOps tools, Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
• Maintain and enhance cloud-based databases to ensure software deliverables, strengthen customer relationships, and expand the customer base.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Applications, and Business Unit teams to automate, build, install, configure, and maintain Database platforms per Cloud architectural specifications.
• Assess existing On-Prem Databases to develop a migration strategy to Cloud native solutions.
• Develop and maintain Terraform modules for provisioning and managing AWS Resources.
• Deploy and manage cloud database resources using automation tools (Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible, Python, etc.).
• Monitor cloud performance and cost, optimize, and reduce expenses.
• Implement security best practices, manage access controls, conduct security assessments, and address vulnerabilities.
• Diagnose and resolve cloud-related issues (system outages, performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems).
• Maintain accurate documentation of cloud infrastructure.
• Provide on-call support for production systems.
• Teamwork to exceed departmental standards.
• Identify process improvements with other departments to enhance standards, boost efficiency, and increase profitability.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud services (specifically AWS).
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps and Automation.
• Experience with tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins, Terraform, Confluence, Ansible, Python, and cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Aurora Postgres, MySQL, Oracle).
• Experience building, automating, and upgrading multiple enterprise-level cloud-based databases.
• Experience engaging with users at all levels.
• Experience working in a team delivering high availability service.
• Understanding of business strategy and back-office applications.
• Adaptable to a multilingual and multicultural environment.
• Experience managing conflicting priorities.
• Proficient in Agile development and deployment methodologies.
• Strong understanding of cloud databases, implementations, high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and extensibility.
• Proficiency with AWS Aurora/RDS (Postgres, MySQL), AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), Schema Conversion Tool (SCT), and KMS encryption.
