Title: Data & Analytics Senior Data Engineer - P4
Location: Remote Canada
Reports To: Data Science & Engineering - Vice President
The Role: JD Power is seeking a senior data engineer with strong quantitative and analytical skills. Ideal candidates will leverage their skills to combine multiple data sources for complex client inquiries related to vehicle valuations, market readiness, and customer purchasing decisions. Hands-on work with quantitative data is key for developing new capabilities and enhancing existing ones.
Impact: We create data products to address challenges in the automotive industry. All data engineers contribute to projects that go into production, impacting existing and new products.
Responsibilities:
- Daily engagement with automotive industry data
- Collaboration with stakeholders to define data requirements
- Development of robust and scalable data pipelines for current and future products
- Design, troubleshooting, and execution of repeatable data processes, identifying bottlenecks and optimizing efficiency
- Generation of insightful data interpretations for clients
- Interdisciplinary teamwork with various teams (Consulting, Product Development, Data, Engineering, etc.) to implement solutions and improve processes
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of quantitative analytics experience
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL and Python
- Extensive experience in ETL processes, demonstrating efficiency and accuracy
- Ability to combine datasets from diverse sources with multiple dimensions and complexities
- Experience in data analytics and statistical concepts (e.g., promotion/pricing, media mix modeling, regression analysis, time series analysis, data mining, simulation, optimization, forecasting)
- Proven ability to resolve data issues creatively
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, or a related field (e.g., econometrics, statistics, operations research, quantitative marketing, finance, engineering)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
