Turner & Townsend is seeking a Senior Estimator to join the Data Center team supporting hyperscale data center construction programs.
The role involves leading preconstruction budget development, cost planning, estimating and value engineering across lease, new build and mega campus projects.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and support preconstruction budget development and pricing revisions through GMP.
- Develop and refine estimates and cost plans from concept through detailed design across multiple regions.
- Present estimates and updated cost plans to clients and internal stakeholders at key design milestones.
- Provide program-level estimates, support value engineering, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Review design changes, new technologies and construction methods to assess cost impacts.
- Collaborate with design, procurement and construction teams to align scope, budget and schedule.
- Coordinate estimating efforts with internal teams and external consultants/vendors.
- Support and mentor junior estimating staff and contribute to benchmarking and cost model trends.
- Participate in risk assessments, contingency planning and SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in construction cost management, estimating or preconstruction roles.
- Proven experience delivering conceptual and detailed estimates for large-scale construction projects; data center/mission-critical experience highly desirable.
- Strong background in value engineering, cost analysis, benchmarking and life cycle costing.
- Familiarity with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, CostX, RSMeans or similar platforms.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents and present to senior stakeholders.
Salary: $140,000 - $155,000 per year (base salary range).
Work arrangement: Flexible hybrid schedule with remote work allowed and some in-office/onsite collaboration expected depending on project needs.
