At MistyWest, a Firmware Engineer creates programs that interface with and control physical devices.
Responsibilities:
- Identify core software/firmware requirements.
- Plan architecture and communicate with project team.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and designers.
- Complete product development and research tasks.
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of experience in firmware and software development.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven results developing firmware and embedded software for connected products (e.g., BLE, WiFi, LTE).
- Experience with Unit tests, Static Analysis tools, and Automated test suites.
- Knowledge of standard software development practices, testing, and revision control (Agile, Git, Jenkins, CircleCI, QA tools, TDD).
- Experience with low-level drivers and application-level firmware.
- Ability to bring up and debug hardware using logic analyzer, oscilloscope, etc.
- Experience with Ultra Low Power applications.
- Project Specific Requirements:
- Experience with Nordic BLE Chips (nRF51, nRF52, nRF53).
- Experience with Zephyr RTOS development (ideal).
- Experience with other embedded RTOS for microcontrollers (i.e., FreeRTOS).
- Knowledge of sensors and technologies.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Nice to have:
- Experience with WiFi Chips (ESP32, Dialog DA16200).
- Experience with GNSS Based Applications.
- Experience with Altium for schematic capture and layout.
