Key Responsibilities:
- Database Administration & Support: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot RHEL/OEL OS supporting Oracle databases in physical and virtualized environments. Provide DBA services to application development, professional services, and support teams, including database design, query validation/execution, and performance tuning. Troubleshoot database alerts, logs, jobs, disk groups, tablespaces, and resolve performance-related issues. Automate database tasks and develop scripts to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Infrastructure & Security: Lead the design and implementation of database infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements. Manage the implementation of technical controls to enforce security policies. Ensure compliance with SOC2/ISO27001 audits and adhere to all audited controls.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery (DR): Design, implement, and maintain DR methodologies, ensuring documentation is up to date. Periodically validate Oracle 19c backup/recovery operations using RMAN. Assume responsibility for documenting and maintaining disaster recovery plans for each supported system.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Research, evaluate, design, test, and recommend new database software versions and related tools. Act as a mentor for junior DBAs and provide technical guidance. Assist development teams in improving database design and PL/SQL best practices.
- On-Call & Availability: Provide 24/7 on-call rotational support, including occasional weekend coverage. Familiarity with monitoring tools like DataDog, Solarwinds, site24/7 or OEM.
- 10+ years of experience with Oracle 19c+ administration.
- 3+ years of experience with MS SQL 2012+ and PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience using Solarwinds as a monitoring tool is essential.
- Strong expertise in PL/SQL coding, debugging, and query optimization.
- Proficiency in Linux system administration and bash scripting.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure SQL, and PowerShell scripting.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure design, security best practices, and compliance.
- Experience with high-availability database solutions (clustering, replication, failover strategies).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
