Contractor Senior Product Manager

Position Summary: The Senior Product Manager owns the digital strategy behind a product, or a suite of products, for Mitacs, including development and delivery, specifying functional requirements, managing feature releases. This role provides leadership to execute and advance digital products in support of Mitacs's strategic goals.

This is a full-time temporary (1-year contract with potential for extension) position reporting to the Manager, Product Management.

Responsibilities:

• Prioritize and manage the backlog for Mitacs+ while collaborating with the Product Lead, Service Design and Operational Excellence team.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver innovative solutions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Mitacs+, power platforms, and powerapps.
• Develop internal and external process and workflow knowledge.
• Identify areas within Mitacs+ to capture analytics and track product performance.
• Evaluate market trends and emerging technologies to determine what features to build.
• Manage product portfolio, and release management.
• Translate stakeholder needs to Agile Teams and vendors through Use Stories and prototypes.
• Coordinate activities across the software development lifecycle to ensure the delivered product meets users' needs.

Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Product Manager or similar.
• Extensive stakeholder management experience.
• Strong understanding of business systems and the operational needs of Mitacs.
• Prior experience collaborating with designers in defining Client Experience (CX) and User Interface (UI).
• Familiarity with best practices around the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Hiring Range: $119,610 - $132,900
