What We're Looking ForWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator Engineer with deep expertise in Jira and Jira Service Management. The ideal candidate will administer, maintain, and optimize our Jira environment. The role includes providing support to users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Jira & Jira Service Management Administration:
- Designing a maintainable, scalable data model.
- Establishing a governance structure and processes.
- Creating standard workflows and automations.
- Automating IT's service desk processes.
- Managing users, including onboarding, permissions, and access control.
- Managing Jira plugins and creating custom plugins as needed.
- Jira Service Management Design:
- Queue and SLA design and administration.
- Automation and scripting for service desk processes.
- Knowledge base management.
- Customer portal customization.
- System Performance and Optimization:
- Monitoring and troubleshooting Jira performance issues.
- Implementing best practices for system optimization.
- Capacity planning and resource allocation.
- User Support and Training:
- Serve as a subject matter expert.
- Develop, test, and deploy upgrades for Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
- Creating and delivering training materials and documentation.
- Assisting with user adoption and change management.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Working closely with cross-functional teams.
- Communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required skills:
- 3+ years of systems administration experience.
- Deep expertise in Confluence, Jira, and Jira Service Management.
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and process design.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Jira certifications (preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (preferred)
- Knowledge in scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python) (preferred)
Will be a Plus:
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
- Familiarity with cloud-based Jira deployments (Atlassian Cloud)
- Experience with Agile methodologies
