Systems Security Engineer is part of the Endpoint Security Operations team, reporting to the Systems Security Engineer Lead.
You will oversee the innovation, development, and overall maintenance of endpoint security applications like EDR, AV, DLP, and Cloud Proxy.
You will focus on the infrastructure side of endpoint security, but work with users whose issue requires specific expertise beyond what service desk offers.
You will be responsible for scheduled management tasks, automation, development, break/fix, and consulting with other business units to maintain functional and efficient services.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Security experience in endpoint security, secure system configurations.
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems with application in endpoint security operations.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and fix issues caused by security tools on servers and workstations.
- Manage endpoint vulnerabilities and security software mitigation.
- Analyze security events and confirm false positives.
- Manage platforms relevant to EDR, AV, DLP and Cloud Proxy (Microsoft Defender and Trellix).
- Coordinate resolution between vendors, regional teams, and product SMEs to solve complex issues.
- Develop documentation for processes, automation, and workflows.
- Attend audits, playing an SME role, and provide documentation samples.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of information security engineering experience.
- 5+ years administering security products (EDR, AV, DLP, and Cloud Proxy) - preferable.
- 3+ years administering Windows and Linux systems.
- Mac exposure is beneficial.
- 2+ years PowerShell or Python scripting desirable (coding background not necessary).
- Tanium operation experience is beneficial.
- Experience with multiple security products.
- Ability to communicate effectively at different levels (end-users to senior leadership).
- Incident handling/incident response for infrastructure and endpoints.
- Understanding of networking concepts (VLAN, subnets, protocols, routing).
- Comprehension of security controls, capabilities, and corporate environment usage.
- Demonstrated documentation experience.
- Experience leading process improvements, identifying gaps, and driving resolutions.
Certifications:
- CISSP, CCSK, MCSE, RHCSA are beneficial but not required if experience demonstrates mastery.
