Job Description:
Ashburn Consulting is teaming with WMATA to provide robust IT services. The Server Engineer will design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Server Management: Allocate, install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows/Linux).
- Installation and Configuration: Set up and configure server hardware and software to meet organizational requirements.
- Documentation: Document server disposition.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and implement upgrades for high availability and efficiency.
- Security & Compliance: Manage security patches and updates.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup solutions for data integrity.
- Cloud & Virtualization: Configure and manage cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, VDI).
- Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
- Network Infrastructure: Collaborate with network teams for seamless integration.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve server incidents.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Collaboration & Leadership: Mentor junior administrators and work with IT teams to implement best practices.
