Full-Time Service Owner – Security Data

The Security Data & Logging Service Owner is responsible for collaborating with business stakeholders (internal and external to Cyber Security) to develop a data strategy supporting NBCU's Cyber Security goals. As a Service Owner, you'll develop service strategy and roadmaps to meet the data needs of a growing Cyber Security organization.

This role requires full product lifecycle management, including engaging with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and cross-functional partners to understand Cyber Security data needs and create valuable security insights.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Developing, planning, and implementing a strategy for evolving the data pipeline, storage, signal, and insight capabilities.
2. Creating a roadmap focused on outcomes, using data-driven insights to guide decisions and prioritization.
3. Managing tasks, timelines, and resources to ensure high-quality delivery.
4. Collaborating across the organization to align objectives and technical capabilities.
5. Partnering with technical operations teams to enhance, maintain, and sustain security data platforms.
6. Working with architects and engineers to build the technology needed for the roadmap.
7. Partnering with Cyber Security stakeholders (e.g., NBC News, Universal Pictures) to understand needs and develop solutions.
8. Acting as a point of contact for engagement, escalations, and support of service level agreements.
9. Applying data engineering principles and mentoring technologists.

Basic Requirements:

• 8+ years of related experience in Cyber Security
• 3+ years of experience in a technical product owner, architect, or similar role, focused on data-driven products
• Deep technical understanding of relevant platforms, products, and concepts (SIEMs, text search systems, etc.)
• Understanding of the security industry and applicable trends
• Strong communication and influence skills
• Experience designing and operating security tools and services at enterprise scale
• Understanding of security risk and ability to make risk-based decisions
• Desire for improvement and challenging the status quo

Desired Characteristics:

• Hands-on experience with data pipeline tools (Vector, Logstash, Spark, etc.)
• Experience building systems in AWS and using DevOps toolchains
• Understanding of threat intelligence frameworks
• Data-driven decision-making skills
• Comfort with scripting or software development
• Exposure to security compliance requirements (ISO27001, PCI/DSS, etc.)
