What will the role involve?
Pitch story ideas based on social media content, including TikTok, Instagram, X, Reddit, and Facebook. Turn pre-viral and viral moments into news stories.
Source stories appealing to different audiences, liaising with newsrooms.
Build daily story ideas, pitch to editors, and write high-quality copy.
Stay updated on trending news and emerging viral content.
Work various shifts including weekends.
Who are we looking for?
NCTJ qualified (or time served equivalent) journalist with media law knowledge.
Demonstrable newsroom experience and passion for storytelling.
Strong digital publishing and social media skills.
Passionate about audience engagement, keen eye for trending news, and analytics/SEO knowledge.
Desire to publish work on UK news sites and collaborate in a dynamic team.
