Company: Stacklok is building secure context delivery for enterprise AI. Our flagship product, ToolHive Enterprise, orchestrates Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers at scale to connect generative AI safely to internal data and systems.
Location: This is a remote role open to candidates based in Italy, Spain.
Role: As a Software Engineer II on the ToolHive team you will contribute to Go-based backend services and develop the ToolHive MCP Control Plane. You will influence architecture, design scalable APIs, and solve distributed systems challenges while collaborating with frontend engineers, designers, and product managers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Go backend services for MCP server management and orchestration.
- Design and implement scalable, reliable APIs and control-plane components.
- Address complex distributed systems problems and drive architectural decisions.
- Collaborate across teams to deliver high-performance backend services.
- Engage with the open source community and convert feedback into product improvements.
Success in first 6-12 months:
- Gain deep understanding of ToolHive backend through code reviews and design discussions.
- Contribute meaningful features and improvements to the codebase.
- Collaborate effectively with the team and community to ship reliable services.
