Software Integration Engineer is a key role in bringing Movu's automated storage solutions to life for customers. The core focus is integrating Movu's technology with client software. Solutions include pallet shuttles, tote shuttles, mobile robots, and related systems like conveyors and lifts.
Customers are across the US and Canada, working with leading integrators.
Project Size: 1-30M
Responsibilities:
- Integrate Movu equipment with client WCS/WES/MES systems.
- Ensure solutions meet industry standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Validate WCS/WMS REST API and TCP/IP interfaces.
- Collaborate with integrators on API support and software integration testing.
- Document all systems and components.
- Develop new software, considering warehouse file design.
- Design systems with an API-first approach.
- Lead pilot studies and proof-of-concept tests.
- Create reports and presentations for management and clients.
- Program PLC code for automation (lifts, conveyors).
- Implement visualization and manual control using Siemens equipment.
- Conduct on-site programming and configuration of robotics.
- Design safety programming adhering to regulations.
- Integrate I/O linking signals.
- Conduct I/O testing to verify functionality.
- Drive integrated testing with Robotics Commissioning team and WCS/WES integrators.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams.
- Conduct operational testing during SAT and Go Live.
- Document the software execution process.
- Collaborate with the product development team to suggest improvements.
- Provide post-installation support and maintenance.
- Conduct training sessions for clients.
- Stay informed about industry trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering).
- Required: Multiple years of experience in material handling/warehousing with WCS/WES systems, and software execution in robotics/automation.
- Proficient in programming languages (Python, C++, Java, .NET, C#).
- Skilled in robotic system design, testing, and implementation.
- Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly.
Travel Requirements:
- Travel to customer sites in the US (and occasionally Canada).
- Typically 3-5 weeks on-site per project.
- Efforts are made to allow weekends off or provide an "on-call" day.
- Travel to headquarters in Belgium for training (2-3 weeks).
- Business hours are 8 am – 5 pm CST.
